As you can see I’ve switched blogging hosts. I’m still trying to figure out WordPress so things may be a bit unorganized for awhile.

30 week visit

On Sunday I had my first baby shower. It was great!!! Scott and I are so thankful and so blessed to be at the church we are and have such wonderful friends. We received so many wonderful gifts…some of which I didn’t even realize I’d need. Luckily, most of our friends already have kids. In that aspect we are also blessed. Our Sunday morning class is awesome and we are glad we have been attending it for the past year. I keep thinking that once Colt gets here and all the family goes back home it will be wonderful to have so many ‘experienced parents’ to turn to for advice. The picture above shows me and all my wonderful hostesses: Kerri Behel, Amy Baker, Tonya Morgan, Me, Emmie Mercer, Sara Jo Neal, and Tonya Wright. At my 30 week appointment on Tuesday I was told all was going well. My blood pressure and weight are both great and Colt is growing well. Right now we are predicting a 7.5 lb baby unless he gets a growth spurt right at the end. My tummy measures right to 30 weeks and I couldn’t have asked for a better pregnancy. My doctor told me not to be surprised if I start having random contractions. Scott asked me what those would feel like and I responded “I don’t know, I’ve never had one.” However, my mom said she never had any contractions until after her water broke so we’ll see. I start my every other week appointments now which means the time is drawing near!!! Please keep us in your prayers over these next few weeks and through the labor and delivery.

29 Week Ultrasound

Today Scott and I went for our 29 week ultrasound. This was the last one before Colt gets here. He is already head down which is good and his measurements are all as they should be. His legs did measure long so maybe he’ll be tall. As of right now Colt weighs 3 lbs. 2 oz. I’m predicting he’ll weigh 7 lbs. 5 oz at birth. So far God has answered our prayers of a smooth and easy pregnancy. As far as we can tell before birth God has also blessed us with a healthy baby that is growing and developing properly. Now we have begun praying for an easy and uneventful labor and delivery. I have a couple of baby showers coming up and will spend the next 10 or so weeks checking and double checking that I have everything ready for Colt’s arrival. We were able to do a 3D picture of his face. Now that I’ve seen how cute he is I’m anticipating his arrival even more.

Summer Trips

My summer trips have come to an end. At the end of May Scott and I took a week long trip to San Antonio for my PA conference. Then we sent the second weekend in June in Broken Bow, Oklahoma at a Slinkard (Scott’s mom’s family) Family Reunion. I got to meet and re-meet some of Scott’s family. Many of them I had never met before and hadn’t seen since the wedding 3 years ago. A couple days after getting back from OK, Scott and I and his parents took and 2 day trip to St. Louis. We went to the Arch, a Cardinals game (they lost), to the St. Louis Zoo, and to the Science Museum. My camera’s batteries died just as we entered the zoo so I don’t have any pictures of it. The penguins were my favorite. Now that I’m almost 30 weeks along we won’t be going on anymore trips until after Colt’s arrival.

Baby Shower!!!

I am so excited! Some ladies at church are planning a baby shower for me and Colt in just a few weeks. Mom and I went several weeks ago to Babies R Us, Target, and Everett to pick out all the stuff a new baby needs. We had so much fun choosing all the cute patterns and clothes. Now I can’t wait to fill Colt’s room with those things. It will make it all the more real. My girl cousins on my side of the family are also planning a shower for me. They are all much younger than me with the oldest being a Jr. in High School. I thought that was sweet of them to want to plan it themselves. I’m sure they will do a great job. I’m only 13 weeks away from my due date and start my seventh month next week. Colt and I are both doing great and all my doctors visits are going well. We get to do another ultrasound in 2 weeks to check his size and position and then a few weeks later we’re going to do a 3D ultrasound to get a good look at his features! Starting with my next visit my doctors appointments will go to the every 2 weeks schedule – that means we’re getting close.

San Antonio!!!

San Antonio was great! Windy and hot but still fun. I learned a lot at my conference but Scott and I still made time to have fun. Getting in the pool was great on my back – which is beginning to hurt every now and then from being pregnant. Scott and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary while we were there. It seems amazing that it has already been three years, time goes by so fast. At the same time it seems that Scott and I have known each other forever, I can’t really remember what life was like without him! We went down to the Riverwalk and enjoyed dinner with ducks on the river. Then we took a boat tour of the river. While down at the Riverwalk we saw Charles Barkley!!! He’s HUGE! He was there broadcasting the Spurs vs. Lakers games. While it was all fun…its still good to be home.

Vacation

Yea!!! It’s summer vacation…well for Scott anyway. However, I am enjoying those days I do have off and we get to spend some time together. On Tuesday we took the dog and went up to the lake for a picnic and some time in the water. The weather was great and I got some sun…I still look like a ghost though. Due to the massive amounts of rain we’ve had lately what used to be the 25 foot cliffs are no longer there – they are now under water.

Tomorrow we leave for San Antonio for a week- sounds like a great vacation doesn’t it. We are going because I have to have CME hours to keep my PA license. So it is actually an educational vacation. I’ll spend the days in classes while Scott gets to relax by the pool. However, I do plan to go sight seeing in the afternoon and evenings. I can’t wait to get my hands on some mexican food. The National PA conference is always the week of Memorial Day…also the week of our anniversary. We get some pretty nice anniversary trips out of this!

The pregnancy is going well and I love feeling Colt move. He is an active little thing and keeps me entertained. I am not really looking forward to the 10 hour car ride tomorrow but I’m sure I’ll survive.

Harding Academy Baseball

Scott and I love baseball. We have watched Cardinals games together since we started dating. This year he has been helping as an assistant coach with Harding Academy’s team. The team has done amazing well this season, beating most of their opponents by the mercy rule. On Monday they won their Regional tournament, a first in HA history, and moved on to the state tournament. Today they won their first game of the state tourney, beating Lamar by a pretty big margin. If they win a couple more games they get to play in the championship game in Fayetteville. This would be so exciting for those boys. GO WILDCATS and good luck!!!

22 Week Visit

I had my 22 week checkup today and the doctor says everything is looking good. Colt’s heartbeat is strong and I’m progressing like I should be. It is so exciting feeling him move! I know he needs to continue to grow and get strong inside me but I can’t wait to meet him. 18 weeks seems like forever. We finished his nursery last night so I’ve posted a few pics.
